Major League Baseball Player. He was a right-handed pitcher making his debut for the Philadelphia Phillies on April 21, 1914. For twelve seasons, he played with the Philadelphia Phillies (1914-19), New York Giants (1919), Boston Braves (1919-23) and Brooklyn Robins (1925). He finished his career with a record of 82 wins, 116 loss, 99 complete games, 18 shutouts, 8 saves, 535 strikeouts and a 3.81 earned run average. In retirement, he taught physical education for the San Francisco School Board for 27 years.
